Powered by a Kubota D1803-CR engine is Tier IV compliant, for reliability and to maximise digging and lifting performance. Kubota’s CRS engine electronically controls the timing and amount of fuel injected, producing less engine noise and better fuel efficiency. The DPF works by automatically burning the particulate matter build up, automatic burning can be postponed when the excavator is operating in fire prone areas hazardous environments. Both the CRS and DPF work together reduce harmful emissions while increasing performance.
With a wider entrance for easy entry and exit from the cab along with greater operating area and a spacious operating area, plus a fully flat floor for more leg room to enhance comfort for the operator. The deluxe interior features suspension seat and ergonomically designed controls provides superior comfort during those long hours in the cab. The new digital panel puts all your functions at your fingertips for operator convenience and records up to 90 days of operation history.
Third line hydraulic return allows oil to flow back to tank without running through the control valves when working with one-way hydraulic attachments. This contributes to less oil contamination and greater oil flow efficiency. The KX040-4 is available with both standard AUX1 and AUX2 auxiliary circuits. The convenient thumb-operated switch on the lever allows easy proportional flow control of the auxiliary circuit, while a forefinger operated on/off switch enables simple operation of special applications that require a constant oil flow. The maximum oil flow setting is conveniently adjustable from the digital panel. Up to five flow rates corresponding to specific attachments can be programmed in the memory on the digital panel for easy retrieval for the next job.
Bushings on all pivot points on the front attachment and connecting points on the swing bracket is one more feature that adds to the enviable durability of this machine.
An innovative counterbalance ensures superior excavator stability, while the low centre of gravity and double-flanged lower track rollers deliver safe and efficient operation when working to the side with hydraulic attachments or lifting heavy objects.
Save fuel with Kubota’s Auto Idle. When the control levers are in neutral for more than 4 seconds, the engine RPM automatically idles. Move any control lever and the engine RPM immediately returns. This innovative feature reduces noise and exhaust emissions while reducing operating costs.
Best in class breakout force of 3315KG tackles even the toughest jobs.
Eco mode works by reducing the maximum load on the engine through the hydraulic system. It can be activated by a flick of a switch in the cab and is best for light work like bulking out or filling trucks, achieving big fuel savings without sacrificing performance. ECO mode uses pilot pressure to adjust the force on the horsepower spool, low force for ECO mode, high force for normal mode.
You don’t need to adjust the dozer height to make a clean ground surface—after backfilling, just travel backward along the covered ditch with the dozer in the float position. The float function is also standard on the straight blade making ground-finishing work fast and easy! Angle the blade right or left to push soil to the side of the machine while moving forward. Angle the blade up to 25 degrees both left and right for optimal backfilling eliminating repetitive repositioning. Standard with bolt on cutting edge along with durable fixed hooks.
